Hoje resolvi partilhar convosco um poema que escrevi no final do meu curso TEFL, em Agosto. O poema fazia parte de um dos nossos últimos trabalhos, com tema livre. Como pensava que ia voltar a Portugal em Setembro, foi também uma forma de despedida de todos os amigos que fiz. Como o meu regresso está agora próximo, acho que se enquadra bem. Como devem imaginar o poema está escrito em Inglês por isso façam um esforço

For everyone in my class…

I arrived to the land of Czars
Coming from a little garden by the sea,
Full of excitement and motivation
To learn how to teach the “to have” and the “to be”

I met Julie, Judy and Tim,
Who is always thinking
About everyone but him!

And there was Misty
Who has a sweet heart
Matthew, Megan and Katy,
That sure was a nice start!

During our morning break
Kevin would always make the tea
Fruity, black, lemoned or spicy,
The latter being the tastiest one for me.

I met Penny, Sasha and Natasha
And after a few days of search
Still couldn’t find a word
That rhymed with …”asha”.

And what about the grammar lessons?
Past? Present? Or Future?
A continuous struggle everyday
But they couldn’t have been more perfect I must say!

I also remember the nouns,
the verbs and the conjunctions,
But what confused me the most
Were not the forms, but the functions.

I have learnt so many things
From Americans, English and Russians
And I hope it’s clear and understood
That Portuguese don’t talk only about food!

Now it’s time to say goodbye,
Together we’ve come a long way
I will go with the hope
That we’ll meet again someday!
